Tonight's Homework:

Reading -- read for 15 minutes and log

Spelling -- choose one activity from spelling menu and put answers in spelling notebook. Spelling Test for these words will be tomorrow.

Additional Information:

On Fridays, we will offer pizza for lunch. This is separate from the Simply Gourmet lunch program. A copy of the monthly pizza form is in your child's folder. If you would like to order pizza for this month, please return the order form along with your cash payment by Thursday, September 13th. 

Our first "Tag Day" will be tomorrow. The theme is "Anti-Bullying". We will be discussing how important it is to use our kind words. Students should wear the color blue on Friday rather than their uniform. Students should bring in $1 (cash only) if they will be participating. 

Back to School Night -- is on Thursday, September 20th at 7pm.

Picture Day -- is on Friday, September 21st. 

Scholastic Book Order -- a form is in your child's folder. If you would like to order any books, please submit your order by September 21st.

Supplies: The Art Supplies List/Bin was omitted from this year's "School Supply List". Our students will now come into Art Class and be provided all supplies! In that respect, we are asking each family to send in $10.00 (per each student in your family), so that the Art Department can maintain these supplies for personal and collaborative works. Please remit this by cash or, if by check, made out to "St. Therese School" noting "ART" in the memo field. Enclose in an envelope marked: ART PROGRAM / Ms. HOPKINS. Please remit by 09/14/18. THANK YOU!

Today's homework:

Spelling -- a spelling menu is in your child's folder. They are to choose one activity off of the menu to complete each night, Monday through Thursday. All of their work should be done in their spelling notebook, which is in their backpack. The spelling words for this week are already listed on the first page in that notebook. 

Reading -- read for 15 minutes each night, Monday through Thursday, and fill out reading log.

Thursday, September 6th

We are having a great first week of school! What a wonderful group of children! I sent home our spelling and math workbooks to be covered with clear contact paper for extra durability. Please cover them over the weekend and send them back in on Monday.

Tomorrow (Friday) we will be having an early dismissal at noon.

First Day!!

We had a great first day of first grade today!! We spent the day going over our classroom, meeting new friends and learning our new routines. I will be sending home a few workbooks on Thursday for you to cover with clear contact paper. Please send the workbooks back into school by Monday.  Homework will begin next week. Students can bring in a water bottle to keep on their desk during these hot days.

First Friday Mass will be this Friday, September 7th at 11am.
Early Dismissal will be this Friday, September 7th at 12pm.
