First Grade Spirit Week --- Thankful Thursday!
Write a thank you note! You can write your note to a family member, friend or anyone you would like. I'm sure they will be very happy when they get it!

Perfect Thank You Notes: Heartfelt And Handwritten : NPR

Reading:
  • Listen to the story Wilfred Gordan McDonald Partridge. Click this link to get started: https://www.storylineonline.net/books/wilfrid-gordon-mcdonald-partridge/
  • Next, I want you to think about the characters in that story. Use the Venn Diagram (just like we do in school) to write the ways Wilfred and Miss Nancy are different in the outside circles. Then, write how Wilfred and Miss Nancy are the same in the middle circle. You will find the Venn Diagram in the Thursday email. Parents, please take a pic and email me the Venn Diagram. Thank you!

Spelling:
  • Words Worth -- Write each word once. Which word is worth the most? Add up the value of your words if consonants are worth 2 points and vowels are worth 3 points.
  • Flash Writing - In a dark room, use a flashlight to write your spelling words in the air.

Math:

  • Being able to read time on a clock is important. It can help us keep track of everything we do in the day.
  • When we talk about time we use the terms A.M. and P.M.
  • A.M. means the time in the morning. P.M. means the time in the afternoon.
  • When does it change from A.M. to P.M.? It changes at 12:00, which is in the middle of the day. This time is around the time you eat lunch.
  • When we talk about time, we can say: We brush our teeth at 7 A.M. (morning).   We play soccer at 3 P.M. (afternoon) We go to bed at 8 P.M. (evening)

Jadi Ini, Bedanya AM Dan PM

What is the difference between AM and PM? - Letsdiskuss

  • "AM & PM" worksheet (in Thursday email)
  • Time Riddle worksheet (in Thursday email)
  • Please do IXL for 20 minutes. After logging into IXL, go to Math -- First Grade -- Time (I have placed stars next to the sections I would like you to answer questions in).

Religion:
  • Lenten Prayer Chain Piece:  Learn about the Stations of the Cross
  • In school we talked about how the stain glassed windows in church tell a story. The Stations of the Cross tell a story also. Once we get back to school I will take you to church so we can see them. Please watch this short video that explains them.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0qv7c4PsrA
  • This movie really shows us how much Jesus loves us. Now, lets thank Jesus for everything he has done for us. Please say the "Our Father".
